There are two confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Portugal. The news is being advanced by SIC, which reports a doctor interned at the Hospital de Santo António, in Porto, who was on vacation in northern Italy, and another, with mild symptoms, also interned in Porto, but at the Hospital de São João. According to the Carnaxide channel, this man may have been, for professional reasons, in Spain.
It is recalled that the epidemic of the new coronavirus, affected by Covid-19, originated in China, in December 2019, and has already infected more than 86 thousand people in 53 countries on five continents, of which about three thousand died. Italy is the third country with the most infections and the most deaths, after China and Iran.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Covid-19 outbreak as an international public health emergency and increased the risk to “very high”.
