Hundreds of residents of remote villages have been evacuated to empty unused warehouses, in Semut Wonokerto Village, about 7 km from the location. Pekalongan Police Chief AKBP Aris Tri Yunarko said it was channeling aid to the flood refugees as a form of concern for the victims of rob. Deputy Regent of Pekalongan Arini Harimurti who is also the chairperson of the Pekalongan PMI said the condition of residents who were displaced well and health was always monitored. The medical team from the puskesmas is always on standby and if there is an emergency, the hospital has also been alerted.
"The assistance that we deliver toiletries and medicines and food to residents in these refugees," said Arini.
According to him, the tidal flood this time is the worst since the last few years. "Various efforts have been made by the local government, such as building a giant embankment on the beach. Tens of pumps have been installed and roads and settlements have also been helped to be elevated, so as not to be flooded," Harini explained.
This time, Rob was very big and sank two sub-districts in Pekalongan Regency, Tirto District, including Jeruksari Village, Mulyorejo, Tegaldowo, Karangjompo. One more sub-district, Wonokerto, covers Semut Village, Wonokerto Kulon, Tratebang, Pecakaran, Jambean, Api Api, and one small island of Simonet which cannot be inhabited anymore.
