This Sunday, more than 6 thousand people attended the second day of FC Porto elections, something that means, for Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, current president of the dragons, "a sign of vitality" of the club.
Speaking to RTP, the blue and white manager was proud of the presence in strength and weight of the club's members and also addressed the plan of Cidade FC Porto, "one of the main objectives" that led Pinto da Costa to re-apply for the presidency of the club of the Invicta City, as he himself assumed.
"[Six thousand people present at the election] It is positive, it is a sign of vitality, of the members' interest in the life of FC Porto and I congratulate you on the orderly and effective way in which this vote has taken place. There are already more than 6 thousand people, in full order, it’s a sign of the club’s vitality. As president, I’m very proud to have this situation happening today. Tomorrow I’ll check what’s up and I’ll have a busy day with the League General Assembly where I’m going to be present ", started by referring to the president of FC Porto.
City FC Porto
"Cidade FC Porto is one of the main goals that led me to apply and I think we will achieve an achievement that matches FC Porto's scrolls."
Attacks from the other candidate lists for the club presidency
"I think that Dr. Rui Moreira was more targeted and forgot to ask the candidates if they allowed him to run for the higher council. It was a failure. But as he did not know them, he had no opportunity. For me, having the president of Porto City Council and being Dr. Rui Moreira is a source of pride. And considering that it is political does not make sense. If it were, it would belong to a party. And although I had the opportunity, I never wanted it, I always wanted to be completely independent. Mayor of Porto is a place of passion because you can only be Mayor if you love the land. Dr. Rui Moreira loves the city of Porto. "
Audience presence in stadiums
"When the decisions are absurd it is difficult to predict what will come next, it is absurd to have 16-seat boxes and not be able to have anyone there. Any day they even ask us to remove the boxes from the stadium. I have no idea, in the same way that the people who decided this have no idea what a football stadium is ", he concluded.
