Managing disk space can be a problem for many users. Not everyone has access to larger storage, so they need to do a very tight control of the space that is being occupied.
One way to do this management is by searching and deleting larger files, thus freeing up essential space. Finding these files is simple in Windows 10 and does not require any app. See how to find these large files.
Finding large files is simple
Many Windows 10 users have become accustomed to using external apps for the most basic functions. They ignore everything the system offers and can be used. We have often shown you how to use these options to avoid using external and third-party apps.
One of the most requested features is the search for large files. Windows 10 has this option available, just knowing how to use it to find what you're looking for. It is a simple and intuitive process for anyone using the search.
Windows 10 has the right tool
Start by clicking on the search area of the Windows 10 File Explorer. Doing a simple search opens all the options needed to configure the search for large or small files, depending on what you want to find.
In the back area you will now find the Search area, where you have the option to filter by size. When expanding this option, they have several options, all associated with searching for files with sizes within the available standards.
Just choose the right size you want to find
Just choose the option you want, and the search will start. The options present are Empty (0 KB), Very small (0 - 16 KB), Small (16 - 1 MB), Medium (1 - 128 MB), Large (128 - 1 GB), Huge (1 - 4 GB) and Gigantic (> 4 GB).
The search will then be done based on the defined size standard, looking for the files that fit that search that is being carried out. The time it takes depends on the size of the disk being searched for.
Without using any app to do so
If you prefer, instead of using the Size option, you can use the search box directly. They just need to write the word size and the pattern: Big size or size: gigantic. Then press Enter or the blue arrow to start the search.
Once again it is proven that Windows 10 has the right tools to help the user at any time. Simple to use, it doesn't need any configuration, the user just has to choose what he wants or simply write to find large files.
