PALOPO – A husband in Palopo City, South Sulawesi, persecuted a man who was suspected of having an affair with his wife because of burning jealousy. The victim was killed after being hit with an iron and stabbed with a badik. The perpetrators have now been secured at the Palopo Police Headquarters.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Palopo, AKP Ardy Yusuf, said that this incident began when the perpetrator named Mail (27) found a conversation between his wife and a man suspected of having an affair on social media. The man invited his wife to meet.
"There is a chat between the wife of the perpetrator and the victim on a Facebook account to meet up," he said.
On Sunday (05/03/2020) around 03.00 WITA, his wife left the house. The departure of the wife is followed by the offender. Until he reached Jalan Ratulangi, the wife entered the alley to meet the man who was in the chat. The victim came on a motorcycle.
"When the victim got out of the vehicle, the perpetrators then carried out the abuse using iron," he said.
Not only that, the perpetrators also stabbed the victim's back with a badik. The victim ran away at home and was taken to the hospital by the family. Unfortunately, at 09.00 WITA, the victim died.
After torturing the victim, the father of one child escaped to Mount Kambing in Salubulo Village, North Wara District.
The police who received reports of the persecution that caused the death of the victim, immediately did the crime scene and chased the perpetrators. Officers found the perpetrators going down the mountain on Sunday afternoon.
Now the perpetrators are in Palopo Police Headquarters to be examined in depth to ascertain the motives of the perpetrators. In addition to the perpetrators, the police also seized sharp weapons belonging to the perpetrators used to persecute victims.
For their actions, the perpetrators were charged under Article 351 Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 338 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of 15 years in prison.
